Clearing during a pandemic
For the University of Portsmouth, we approached Clearing 2020 knowing we needed a strong strategy and media plan to deliver against ambitious targets. We also had to keep the campaign agile and flexible enough to respond to the rapidly changing media landscape and changes in audience behaviour.
We based our thinking on Life Interrupted, Havas Education’s research series that stressed the needs of the audience from concept to delivery, and the channels, content and messaging that would work for them. Then we delivered a truly multi-channel approach covering offline and online channels.
We didn’t so much reach targets as overachieve by 35%. We delivered a huge footprint, in terms of reach, and generated high traffic numbers, increasing our numbers significantly year-on-year, all thanks to our strategy and approach.
