Meet Jonathan

Hello, Iโ€™m Jonathan – Havas People’s Associate Creative Director ๐Ÿ‘‹ โ€‹
โ€‹
My imagination has always been my best friend. In my childhood, it took me to space ๐Ÿš€ and helped me build castles ๐Ÿฐ. But today, it helps me develop ideas that support our clients in solving problems, leveraging opportunities and engaging with employees. โ€‹
โ€‹
Going back a decade, when I was trying to get into advertising and I was asked what my favourite ad was, I used to say those classic Volkswagen ads by DDB – I loved their casualness. At the end of the day though, no matter how beautifully crafted that copy was, its purpose was to sell a car. โ€‹
โ€‹
Now, I donโ€™t know about you, but over the years Iโ€™ve realised that creativity has the power to do more than that. It has the power to make lives better. Tackle cancer. Overcome loneliness. Enhance rehabilitation. Improve physical health. Encourage social distancing. And Iโ€™ve come to realise that as much as I still love those DBB ads, appreciate the boldness of Burger Kingโ€™s Moldy Whopper and the playfulness of anything Spotify does, I wouldnโ€™t want to work on those briefs anymore. โ€‹
โ€‹
I believe that there are more important issues for creativity to solve out there, more complex challenges for us to answer. And that’s my call for all creatives out there โ€“ especially younger creatives who are trying to break into this industry. Do you want to just do cool stuff, or do you want your work to have a lasting influence? โ€‹
